Absolutely stunning and charming historical village! The buildings are not only beautiful, but also so well preserved. There's also so many wonderful restaurants, bakeries, and cafes to enjoy - it's an absolutely fantastic place to stop for a break.

The chapel 'Our Lady of the Three Ears of Corn' is famous for an apparition of the Virgin Mary in 1491. In 1968, a modern pilgrimage church was built, which in 1991 received a triple tower as a symbol of the "three ears of corn."

The Mairie de Turckheim, located on the rue du Conseil, is an elegant and well-maintained building that fits perfectly into the historic cityscape of Turckheim. The architecture is classical and understated, with a symmetrical facade, sandstone details and a saddle roof that harmonizes with the surrounding half-timbered houses. In front of the building is a charming little square with a fountain, often richly decorated with flowers, which gives the whole a picturesque appearance. From here you have a beautiful view of the surrounding streets of the old town, with their colorful facades and medieval atmosphere.

The southern city gate of Turckheim, also known as the Porte de Colmar or Niedertor, was built around 1330 and was the gateway for trade to Switzerland for centuries. Originally equipped with a drawbridge, portcullis and double doors, it was closed at night and during Sunday mass. The gate successively bore the coats of arms of the Holy Roman Empire and Louis XIV, and in 1871 two turrets were added – which were removed again in 1912. Today it is a beautifully preserved example of medieval city fortifications and an iconic landmark in the cityscape of Turckheim.
