It is a pleasure to visit the observatories on the path of the same name.

The Kembs Locks are located on the Grand Canal d'Alsace, near Rhine Island. They play a vital role in river navigation and managing the flow of the Rhine. There are several locks in this area, including the Kembs-Niffer Lock, designed by Le Corbusier and inaugurated in 1961. This lock has been listed as a Historic Monument since 2005 due to its remarkable architecture. The locks allow boats to pass between the Grand Canal d'Alsace and the Rhine, facilitating river transport. They are also integrated into EDF's hydroelectric projects, which harness the river's energy to generate electricity.

The Mathieu Ritter Observatory is a beautiful observation point, but it is a bit remote for those who want to capture detailed images of wildlife.

The Obere Au Observatory, nestled in the heart of the Petite Camargue Alsacienne, is a true haven for nature lovers and birdwatchers. Located in a protected area, this observatory offers an exceptional view of the many birds that inhabit this reserve. Visitors can observe storks, herons, and other iconic species in their natural habitat, while enjoying the peace and serenity of the surrounding landscape. An ideal destination for a total immersion in Alsatian biodiversity.

The access to the observation tower is somewhat hidden. Don't drive too fast at this height and always look carefully to your right.

First small high seat built by the "Scouts de France" (1988 high seat du grand pré with a view of the cornfield). Newly built in 1994 by the "Bras Cassés" and opened in 1998. It was the first tower they built. In memory of the ornithologist Georges Muller, who observed here every day, the tower was renamed in 2009. The tower was sponsored by Crédit Mutuel St.Louis Regio in 1999
