Here on the left bank there is a picnic area with an information hut: The river IJzer flows through the village centre of Roesbrugge. From its source in Lederzeele and Buysscheure in France, the river flows into Belgium in Roesbrugge after having covered 37 km on French soil, to flow into the North Sea 41 km further on in Nieuwpoort. It is the only river in Belgium that flows into Belgian territory. Today you can take relaxing walks along the towpath through the green landscape. You can do this with the junction map 'De IJzervallei' or with the 'Dode IJzerwandelroute'. The picnic area offers a quiet spot to enjoy the landscape with a snack or a drink. If the Belgian weather lets you down, you can take shelter in the information hut.

A bridge over the Lovaart, along the Yser. Fintele is a small hamlet at the intersection of the IJzer and the Lokanaal that has developed into an attractive hub for cycling and walking recreation and gastronomy. The central open meeting space was enriched with a bicycle shed and benches. Jettys for boats and a rest area for hikers were constructed along the shore. Since the end of the 17th century, a swing bridge has allowed farmers to cross the IJzer near Fintele to get the hay from the IJzerbroeken and to take the cattle to the broeken. In the mid-19th century, the swing bridge made way for a demountable bridge that was built up and taken down every summer. This 'Hooipiete' (piete is West Flemish for removable wooden bridge) also had to be broken up and replaced by hand with every passage of a ship. The increase in pleasure boating and increasingly heavy agricultural vehicles meant that the bridge was not rebuilt after the summer of 1990. De Hooipiete is now set up over a ditch in the meadow next to restaurant De Hooipiete.

The parish already existed in 1155. A Romanesque church built around 1250 was replaced by a late Gothic church building, which was set on fire in 1796 by French-minded revolutionaries and looted to be restored in 1800. In 1830 the church was rebuilt. In 1889 the building was enlarged in neo-Gothic style, after a design by Antonius Verbeke. A west tower, a transept, a baptistery and an east side were then added. During the First World War, the tower was used by the Allies as a lookout post. In 1917, the French soldier Etienne Lorinte Bikschote was killed. He was initially buried in the cemetery of Stavele. His parents, who were glaziers, donated two stained glass windows to the church in 1919. In addition to religious scenes - the Baptism of Christ, the martyrdom of Saint Stephen (Saint-Étienne) - it also depicts scenes from the First World War, as well as the portrait of Etienne Lorin.

Domain of De Lovie - Kasteelpark. The castle of De Lovie dates from 1856 and is built in neoclassical style. The Castle Park is a remnant of the original English landscape park. A number of important elements of the English landscape park are still clearly visible: the partly preserved avenue of red beech trees, the water features with a bridge, various sightlines, bushes and hedges, a number of remarkable trees and the park elements that are protected as a monument. The Canadabos is located north of De Lovie and Canadaweg.

Fintele lock is a lock and spillway located in Fintele, a hamlet in Pollinkhove, Lo-Reninge. It is located at the confluence of the Lovaart and the Yser. During the First World War, Fintele was close to the front, but was not badly damaged. In World War II, just before the capitulation of May 1940, the lock was blown up by the Belgians for tactical reasons. It was completely rebuilt in 1943.
