The castle isn't open to the public except for specific events, so check the calendar. It's located just across from Beauvoorde's beautiful church and cemetery. A little further down the street, you'll also find the old pancake bakery and pancake house. An old hunting lodge dating from 1902. It was built by order of landowner Emile Valcke as a wedding present for his niece Martha Valcke who married Mr. Marcel Vandecasteele. Edward and Frans took part in an attack on German positions at Stampkot. After the attack, Frans did not return, whereupon Edward – against orders – decided to go and look for him.
