Bourges' city beach… On the north side of the lake lies a surprising city beach. In summer, there's supervised swimming, playground equipment, and a grassy area with benches and tables for picnics and barbecues. The walking path offers beautiful views of the water with the city in the background. A perfect spot for a break, a dip, or just relaxing with your feet in the sand.

Much more than a city lake... This large lake appears to be a nature reserve, but it was artificially created in the 1970s as a water buffer and recreation area for Bourges. It has since grown into a green oasis where you can spot a surprising number of migratory birds. An added bonus: in summer, concerts and events are regularly held around the lake.

Lake Auron Beach invites you to enjoy the sun on the sand with friends or family. It's the perfect place for summer, with its supervised swimming area, beach volleyball court, pétanque courts, barbecues and picnic tables, and basketball and tennis courts. It's the perfect place to spend a day outside enjoying the sun.

Walking around Lake Auron is one of the locals' favorite activities. With its 5.5 km circumference, it is an ideal loop for family walks as well as for experienced athletes. Connected to the city center by the green ring road, whether walking, running or cycling, the layout is suitable for all styles of walks. Inaugurated in 2017, the Val d'Auron beach comes alive as soon as the sun rises. The urban lake and its 850m2 of supervised swimming area in the summer become "Bourges Plage". Want to build sandcastles and swim with a view of the cathedral? It's here! To take a break between two swims, you will find refuge in the shade of the trees, in an area equipped with picnic tables, and even barbecues, to enjoy with family or friends.
