When you visit the viewpoint over the Sancerre valley in Verdigny, you have a breathtaking panoramic experience. This viewpoint offers stunning views of France's beautiful Sancerre Valley, known for its picturesque vineyards and charming countryside. As you admire the landscape, you will see the rows of vineyards stretching out before you, creating a patchwork of green and gold, depending on the season. It's a great place, especially at sunset, when the valley is bathed in warm, golden light.

Former railway viaduct dating from 1893, on the line which linked Saint-Germain-du-Puy to Cosne-Cours-sur-Loire. The line was closed in 1966 and a road was built there instead. The view of Saint-Satur, Sancerre and the vineyards is worth a look.

The place gives its name to one of the most famous white wines of the Loire region, Sancerre. Sancerre was declared an Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée (abbreviated AOC) on January 23, 1959 (adjustment on March 18, 1998). The total of 2570 hectares of vineyards are west of the Loire. The vineyards are located in a hilly landscape at an altitude of 200 to 300 m above sea level. NN. In addition to Sancerre, the municipalities of Cosne (as the only municipality east of the Loire), Sainte-Gemme, Sury-en Vaux, Verdigny, Chavignol, Ménetou-Ratel, Bué, Crézancy-en-Sancerre, Montigny, Veaugues, Vinon and Thauvenay are in the AOC Sancerre approved (Wikipedia).
