The Black Elster Cycle Path is a 190-kilometer-long long-distance cycle route in southern Brandenburg and northern Saxony, with short sections also extending into eastern Saxony-Anhalt. The cycle path runs from the source of the Black Elster River at 317 meters above sea level to its confluence with the Elbe River at 69 meters above sea level, through the foothills of the Lusatian Mountains near Kamenz and later largely directly along the Black Elster's dike. It is marked with a magpie symbol.

A very special place with a remarkably long history. "During the period between the late Bronze Age and the early Iron Age, a hillfort was built near the site as a refuge or defensive fort. This earthwork was approximately 400 meters in diameter. Later, the hillfort was used by Germanic and Slavic tribes." The site is perfect for a long break or a hearty picnic.

The area around Dobra was already settled in prehistoric times. A burial ground with burial mounds dating back to approximately 3,000 years ago indicates human settlements in the Bronze Age. The village was first documented in 1422. Dobra probably owes its name to the Sorbian "dobra voda," meaning "good water," and possibly derived from the original stream name. Dobra was once the court seat of the Liebenwerda district. The church square is the focal point of the village. A particularly striking feature is a beautifully carved wooden welcome plaque depicting the village's two former mills.

Dobra's Protestant village church is surrounded by the village's former cemetery, where the last burial took place in 1933. The village church is essentially a late Gothic fieldstone building. The date 1483 can be found in the roof truss of the nave. The upper part of the nave was slightly rebuilt in the 17th century. To the west stands a square wooden tower, which becomes octagonal further up, with a spire and weather vane. It dates from the mid-18th century and was restored in 1992.

Built around 1800, it is the last remaining post mill in the city. Inside there is an exhibition area with vessels, products and tools from the everyday life of the mill.
