Ranked among the most beautiful villages in France, Lavardin is a very pretty little town, where medieval, Renaissance and troglodyte styles mix. The Saint-Genest church is particularly beautiful, with its colorful paintings. Concerts take place there in summer. Just opposite you will find a café-bakery, carved into the stone, which serves delicious ice cream. You won't be able to miss the remains of the castle and its 26 meter high tower. Note that it is possible to pitch your tent on the banks of the Loir, at the bottom of the village. The spot is very pleasant.

The Château de Vendôme is a magnificent hiking destination. As you climb the hill, you're rewarded with breathtaking views of the town and beyond. The walk is short and strenuous, but well worth the effort. You'll be surrounded by the castle ruins, which are not accessible but provide a perfect spot to relax and soak up the atmosphere. Don't forget your camera to capture the ambiance and stunning views!

The Saint Martin Church in Villetrun dates from the 12th century in Romanesque style with a bell tower and remarkable frescoes, sculptures and stained glass windows.

The Tour de Coulommiers is a medieval tower that was built in the 12th century. You can clearly see the chimney and hearth of the tower, giving you insight and understanding of the ruins you see before you.

Family residence of the Giscard d'Estaing family, the estate of this beautiful 18th century building also houses the remains of an old abbey. The majestic deer's head, which adorns the gate, carefully guards the entrance. It is here that the former President of the Republic breathed his last.
