The Bosbaan, built in 1937, is the oldest artificial rowing course in the world and a popular place for rowing training and competitions. From the shore near the restaurant you can often see rowers training hard or competing here. Follow the paths along the water to experience the activity up close, or walk further into the Amsterdamse Bos for a peaceful walk through nature.

Beach pavilion Hargen is easily accessible and has a very spacious parking lot with 1600 parking spaces. So there is always a parking space and you can easily reach the beach. Via a paved beach exit you can walk to the beach within 200 meters. The perfect starting point for a beautiful walk in the Schoorlse Duinen with a viewpoint of the highest dune or to quietly unload your bike and connect to the bicycle junction system or the MTB route Schoorl. A bike ride to Alkmaar (visit the cheese market & the nicest boutiques for shopping in the historic city center) or Schagen (Grote Kerk) is also within easy reach. From April to October, paid parking is required on the largest parking lot in the municipality of Bergen, which is around the corner from the beach pavilion. From November to March you can park here for free.
