Belflou castle, nestled in the eponymous village, is distinguished by its remarkable moat. These aquatic ditches, surrounding the castle, measure approximately 10 meters wide. The castle, still standing, offers an authentic glimpse of feudal architecture.

The Lac de la Ganguise is a reservoir in the French department of Aude in the Occitania region. It receives water from two tributaries, the Ganguise and the Ruisseau de Labexen, giving it its name, resulting in its characteristic U-shape. The lake is around 50 kilometers southeast of Toulouse and 15 kilometers west of Castelnaudary. Neighboring communities are Baraigne to the northeast, Molleville to the east, Cumiès to the southeast, Belflou to the west and Gourvieille to the north. The project to use the lake as a reservoir for agriculture dates back to 1951. However, the plans were not implemented until 1979. Today, around 20,000 hectares of irrigated areas east of Castelnaudary are supplied with the water. To a lesser extent, it is also used for water sports (sailing, windsurfing) and as a bathing lake. The Club Nautique Castelnaudarien is located in the municipality of Belflou. The dam consists of an earthen dike that blocks the entire Ganguise valley. In 2007, it was raised by 3 meters, increasing the lake area to 500 hectares today. The storage capacity has doubled from 22 to 44.6 million cubic meters.
