카스텔노다리(Castelnaudary)의 퐁뇌프(Pont Neuf)에 있는 기념 명판은 1787년 5월 프랑스 주재 미국 대사였던 토머스 제퍼슨이 운하의 예술 작품, 특히 카스텔노다리(Castelnaudary)의 사중 수문을 감상하기 위해 미디 운하(당시에는 왕립 운하)를 따라 내려간 여정을 기념합니다. 카스텔노다리(Castelnaudary)의 퐁뇌프(Pont Neuf)는 미디 운하를 가로지르는 주목할 만한 석조 예술 작품입니다. 1787년과 1788년 사이에 랑그도크 주(États du Languedoc)에 의해 건설되었으며, 도시 항구 입구, 즉 프티 바생(Petit Bassin)이라고도 불리는 곳에 위치해 있습니다.
