"Treasures of the World – Heritage of Humanity" (a German-language television series) honors special sites from all eras and continents in over 250 episodes with short film clips. Up to this point, near the hamlet of Montferrand, the cycle path on the Canal Du Midi has a very good asphalt surface. From Port Lauragais, the cycle path often runs along paths with natural tracks. After it rains, as it did for me, these paths are very difficult to ride with a trekking bike and luggage and are actually not recommended. Avoiding the road can be very dangerous with so much car traffic. The Canal Du Midi between Toulouse and Carcassonne is very scenic. . . but when it's wet the cycle path is unrideable for me, what a shame!
