This would make them the grandparents of Jesus, but they are not mentioned at all in the biblical writings of the New Testament. Pre-Romanesque church of Saint-Jean-Baptiste from the 9th century (M.H.). The abbey church was reserved for monks. Parishioners only had access to it during special events. From the 9th century there was a church reserved for the worship of the inhabitants and dedicated to Saint John the Baptist. The building has been remodeled several times and the current church probably dates from the 15th century. Its comb wall bell tower is even more recent. It was the subject of a major restoration campaign in the 1980s, including very pretty frescoes. Today it is used as an exhibition hall and for concerts. (Wikipedia en)
