Arlempdes Castle is the first fortress built on the banks of the Loire. Built on a rocky peak, this 13th century construction is a jewel of Velay. The castle has been included on the list of historic monuments since 1926. During the summer, it is possible to visit it through ASACHAR (Association for the Protection and Animation of Arlempdes Castle).

Saints Anne and Joachim are considered the parents of the Virgin Mary, whose birth is the patron saint of this church in Saint-Martin-De-Fugères. This would make them the grandparents of Jesus, but they are not mentioned at all in the biblical writings of the New Testament. The feast of the Nativity of Mary is celebrated on September 8th in many Christian denominations (Catholic, Anglican, Orthodox and Armenian).

the abbey church remains one of the most beautiful examples of Romanesque art in Auvergne with its polychrome facade and its unique summit frieze. A crossroads marks this beautiful viewpoint. The height is 970 m. There is a bench and when the sun shines, the wide base of the wall at the crossroads heats up. You can relax wonderfully there.

Le Monastier-sur-Gazeille is a village that was built around the oldest abbey in Velay (7th century).
