The Old Kingdom Temple of the Sphinx at Giza is an ancient Egyptian temple on the Giza Plateau at the foot of the Great Sphinx. It is considered an important testimony to the temple building activity in the Old Kingdom. The temple was probably built by the ancient Egyptian king Cheops or Chephren.

The Sphinx Temple
It lies directly in front of the Sphinx and consists of heavily weathered limestone blocks weighing up to 200 tons. Today it is known as the Harmachis or simply Sphinx Temple and dates from the same period as the Sphinx.
The Valley Temple
Slantingly in front of the Sphinx, on the right of it, at the beginning of the path to the "Chephren" pyramid is the so-called Valley Temple "of Chephren", although this attribution is also not proven. The Valley Temple was discovered in 1853 by Auguste Mariette. In order to uncover the complex, he used explosives and destroyed significant parts, especially the ceiling structure. Because the Valley Temple offers more than the Sphinx Temple and, as a megalithic complex in the middle of Giza, plays a key role in terms of construction technology as well as the worldwide connection of the builders, it is mentioned here.
