The Great Pyramid of Cheops is the largest of the three great pyramids. It is 146 meters high.
It wasn't until 1311, in the Middle Ages, that a taller building was built in England: Lincoln Cathedral. Many visitors consider the middle one to be the largest pyramid (Pyramid of Chephren). However, it only seems larger because it is slightly elevated.

No pyramid is higher or older than her: at 146 meters, the Great Pyramid was the tallest structure on earth for almost 4,000 years. It is an architectural masterpiece, and not just for its time. The pyramid is precisely aligned with the four cardinal directions, and the side lengths are completely the same except for a few millimeters. The stone blocks are cut so precisely that only a razor blade fits between them. How were the Egyptians able to create such a complex structure using primitive tools at least 4,500 years ago?
The "Great Pyramid" is the only surviving one of the seven wonders of the ancient world. It stands with two other pyramids on the Giza Plateau in Egypt. Historians assume that Pharaoh Khufu had it built. He probably wanted to be buried there, like other rulers in other pyramids.
But no mummy was found in either the King's or Queen's Chamber of the Great Pyramid. Neither are treasures found in other pyramids. Scientists assume that the pyramid was robbed in the Middle Ages at the latest, but perhaps in ancient times.
