The 6 x 4 meter beach chair was built by the beach chair manufacturer "Korbwerk" in Heringsdorf. The legendary beach chair for the G8 summit in 2007 in Heiligendamm had already been made there. The beach chair manufacturer wants to use the furniture to draw attention to the 90-year-old beach chair production on Usedom.

        It's a striking advertisement for the tourism industry. "We hope that the beach chair will become one of the most photographed sights on the island of Usedom," said the managing director of the "Korbwerk" manufacture, Dirk Mund. Last year the municipality, Usedom Tourismus GmbH, Landesmarketing MV and the factory decided to build the beach chair.
