"Precise like Berthold brass" - that's what they said, alluding to the successful entrepreneur Hermann Berthold, who became famous as the inventor of the uniform and binding font measurement system that revolutionized book printing. His neoclassical villa, completed in 1883, is one of the outstanding examples of Wilhelmine architecture due to its architectural integrity and structural unity.

The Villa Oechsler is considered a monument of spa architecture in the Baltic Sea resort of Heringsdorf on the island of Usedom. It was built in 1883 in the center of the seaside resort on today's Delbrückstrasse. Their striking appearance immediately catches the eye. On its gable facing the lake there is the valuable glass mosaic 'Bathing Graces' by Antonio Salviati, which is why the building is also of art historical importance.
Today (July 2019) there is a fashion store here.

The Villa Oechsler is located on a hill near the beach promenade in the holiday resort of Heringsdorf. It was built in 1883 by the councilor of commerce Hermann Berthold in the style of late classicism. The mosaic picture "Bathing Graces", which is located on the gable of the building, is particularly worth seeing. It was designed by the Italian Antonio Salviati.

The villa changed hands several times until the end of World War II, when it was for a time the seat of the Soviet armed forces. In GDR times, the building housed the community library. After reunification, it temporarily belonged to a Berliner before becoming the property of a real estate company. In 1997 the businessman Hermann Hornung bought the villa. He had it extensively renovated in the two following years. Today, a fashion shop is housed in its premises.
