Pateira de Fermentelos is the largest natural lagoon in the Iberian Peninsula, a paradise of biodiversity, home to more than 150 species of birds.

Espinhel Park offers walkways and viewpoints to enjoy the lagoon and the village of Fermentelos. It is an area rich in biodiversity. and habitat for aquatic and migratory birds, close to the geological formation of Eirol sandstones.

The Oliveira do Bairro Parish Church, built in the 17th century and renovated in the 19th century, stands out for its baroque interior with gilded altarpieces and sacred images, including Saint Michael the Archangel and the Virgin of the Rosary.

It is located between the municipalities of Águeda, Aveiro and Oliveira do Bairro, before the confluence of the River Cértima with the River Águeda. There are several trails and paths around the lagoon that can be explored on foot or by bike, especially during the dry season.
