The Vogtsbauernhof Black Forest Open-Air Museum documents the artisanal and rural lifestyles of various regions of the Black Forest. The presentation of different time periods illustrates the cultural and social-historical changes of the past centuries. The museum owes its name to the Vogtsbauernhof, built on its present site in 1612. One of its owners is documented as a valley bailiff in the climatically favorable Gutach Valley around 1650. With the opening of the museum in 1964, the thatched Vogtsbauernhof became the epitome of the Black Forest house. Initially known as the "District Monument Farm," it was the first building in the first open-air museum in Baden-Württemberg. Source: Wikipedia
