The "Rock Tunnel" at the Eisriesenwelt is a new, safe access to the cave entrance, built after a tragic rockfall in 2020. The 230-meter-long and 2.5-meter-wide and high protection and visitor tunnel has been completed since the 2022 season and protects the way to the world's largest ice cave from rockfall.

Great mountain and not very many people. You can climb the east flank without any special equipment. I would recommend a helmet, as there's a lot of loose rock. At the second chimney, there's another path five meters to the right, which I think is easier.

Freshly renovated, reasonable prices, a great atmosphere, and even hot water. When it's cool outside, they heat it with wood. The food is excellent!
