No water flow right now (September 2, 2024) but still interesting rock formations to see

Cacapon Mountain Overlook is one of the most popular viewpoints in the entirety of Cacapon Resort State Park. There is an observation platform with a railing that looks out over the mountains. There is even an informational placard that tells you a bit about what you are looking at.

The Overlook Trail shares a path with the park road that leads up to the observation platform at the Cacapon Mountain Overlook and Prospect Rock Trailhead. The roadway gets steeper as it gets closer to the top and deteriorates from pavement to gravel as it approaches the upper trailhead. Be ready to move for other trail users if you are one of the faster bikes on the trail.

The Perimeter Trail features a few steep inclines and descents with well-marked trails. Check the local blackout dates for hunting, usually in the fall. This scenic hike often provides minimal encounters with other hikers or bikers.

While on the Power Line Trail, cross over the Appalachian Trail carefully, as it is a very busy trail with hikers.

Small waterfall in a beautiful setting. Not overly spectacular but a good turning point for a hike. Attention: the branch path branches off a good 100m later (i.e. upstream) from the main path than shown on the map.

The wooden bridge that arches over Glade Creek makes an attractive background for a snack or rest spot near the creekside.

Though it's hard to single out specific spots along Glade Creek Trail for being more beautiful than others, this segment provides a lot of attractive opportunities to glimpse and hike alongside the creek.
