Among the town's numerous half-timbered houses, the Pfennigstube is particularly striking, if only because it is a freestanding building. Once built as a customs house for the duties associated with salt exports, the building now forms part of the tourist infrastructure (reading room, restrooms, etc.).

At Lindewerra, the Werra River meanders peacefully through the valley, surrounded by wooded hills and picturesque half-timbered villages. From the banks or the bridge, you have a magnificent view of the water and the landscape. An ideal place to pause, breathe, and enjoy the tranquility of the border valley.
