Soiron boasts many well-preserved houses from the 17th and 18th centuries. Built from the local grayish-yellowish limestone, they contribute to the character of this charming village.

Soiron's former public washhouse. A beautiful spot in the lowest part of the village on the Bola River, surrounded by natural stone houses.

This imposing building is a striking symbol of power and wealth. Its size and colorful plasterwork set it apart from the modest houses surrounding it. In Louis XIV style, it bears the date "1765." A chronogram above the entrance confirms this date: this inscription has the unique feature of indicating the date of construction when the Roman numerals it contains are added together.

An old chapel listed as a Walloon monument. Originally, a chapel was probably built here in 1599. Since then, the chapel has been given various names and saints. After the 1692 Verviers earthquake, the famous statue of Our Lady of the Recollects of Verviers was placed in the chapel. Today, it is the chapel of St. Roch. For years, she was visited by people with toothaches. A legend is attached to her.

At the edge of town lies this magnificent rectory from 1765. A beautiful photo opportunity and fitting for the location.

The Church of the Assumption of Mary in Cornesse can be seen from far away. The church is massively built and has a large bell tower. Unfortunately it is not always open, but an information board about the church is posted on the other side of the street.

Nestled between rolling hills, ash groves and meadows, deep down in the valley of the Bola stream lies the dreamy village of Soiron. You won't find any street names here, but you can't get lost anyway, because from every corner of the village you can see the pointed-towered church of Saint Roch, which marks the centre of the village.

The beautifully framed spring of Soiron is located in the lower part of the village. It used to be vital for the villagers, but today it is a village idyll decorated with flowers.
