Beautiful old post office building

The fountain dominates the square opposite the town hall.

On the side of the town hall is the carillon, consisting of fifteen bells. These symbolize the 15 districts of Bad Rodach. The carillon symbolizes the unity of the town of Bad Rodach and commemorates the completion of the municipal reform in 1978. This declaration can be found beneath the carillon.

The first documented mention of the town hall dates back to a renovation in 1572. The previous building was destroyed in 1632 during the Thirty Years' War. The two-story, gable-roofed building with a curved gable façade and turret, which was essentially a half-timbered structure, was completed by 1664. The staircase was relocated inside in 1898. Eight hectares of land are being fenced off on Gauerstadter Berg. As part of the major nature conservation project, cattle and horses will graze there in the future. The Galloway cattle rarely leave the shade of the trees, under which they enjoy standing on these hot days. They are working on the land near Gut Schweighof in the service of nature conservation, grazing in a sense on official orders. The extensive pasture on which they are located belongs to the North Bavaria Highway Directorate. It was designed as a compensation area for the construction of the A73 motorway through the Coburg region. Large portions of the trees and bushes were removed. Near Bad Rodach, there are significant compensatory areas and grazing areas, including the areas near the Schweighof estate and the Rodach floodplain, which are being restored to wet meadows and open woodlands. Galloway cattle and horses graze there as part of the major "Green Belt" nature conservation project for landscape conservation and the protection of rare species such as the yellow-bellied toad.

The master brewer is employed by the city of Seßlach and is responsible for the so-called "Kommunbräu" (communal brewery). His personal territory – the Kommunbrauhaus (Maximiliansplatz 105) at the lower end of Pfarrgasse – was built in 1892 and later renovated in 1960 and 1997/1988. It is one of the last breweries of its kind. Approximately 40 batches are brewed annually. In the past, teachers and pastors were often closely linked in their roles and prestige, as they were among the most important dignitaries in a place, exercising authority and shaping public life. These two professions were often combined in one person, as pastors frequently also worked as teachers, especially in rural communities.
