The new post office building was built in 1906 by a company from Gauerstadt and rented to the Reichspost, which later bought the building. After 1945, Deutsche Post AG, Deutsche Telekom AG and Postbank AG were still state-run as Deutsche Post, but from 1995 onwards, Deutsche Post AG, Deutsche Telekom AG and Postbank AG were converted into the legal form of a stock corporation by decision of the federal government.
