Moos im Passeier is the main town of Hinterpasseier. There is a very good butcher here, the Mooserwirt, with good cuisine, and a wonderful church association, the Bunkermooseum. A visit to the place is definitely worth it.

2 Stage 2: Oetz - Umhausen (approx. 9.5 km) At the end of Oetz you cycle parallel to the Ötztal federal road to Habichen. Through the underpass at Habichen, you can take a detour to the Habicher See. Or you can tackle the tough climb in Tumpener Gstoag straight away. In the second curve, the surface changes from asphalt to gravel and leads through a small section of forest (Seestall – Grube) to Tumpen. Here you go past the school in the direction of the Ötztaler Bundesstraße, which you cross in the same way as the Ötztaler Ache afterwards. Relaxed, you roll further in the direction of Umhausen, past the Engelswand, the hamlet of Lehn Platzl and the Maria Schnee chapel. From St. Leonhard you should definitely take a tour of the heights all around. Once here you can eat in a typical South Tyrolean way. Salad plates with dumplings, cheese dumplings, snack boards and much more are on offer. We tried the homemade apricot cake and the apple foam cake, a dream. Try it out, arrive and enjoy, just like the great view here.

The first steep hairpin bends come behind Moos. It is worth starting very early, then the traffic is limited. Starting at 6:00 a.m. from St. Leonhard, I had a very relaxed experience on the Passo Rombo.
