The Old Palace, built in 1888 by the Wagenführ industrial family, stood empty for a long time and fell into disrepair. Improvement is in sight. A Bulgarian investor is renovating it.

The castle (open only on special occasions) and the park are beautiful and recommended as a running route.

The current situation is beyond deplorable! Security measures are also inadequate.

Without the foundry, the town of Tangerhütte would not exist – the foundry on the Tanger River. Construction of the ironworks began next to Vaethen in 1842. The "Aus einem Guss" association is currently caring for some of these historic buildings from the foundry's heyday. Together with a landscaped park, two castles, the mausoleum, the art-casting pavilion, and an artificial waterfall, this unique ensemble is to be preserved.

The mausoleum is an impressive building and a listed monument. It is one of the landmarks of Tangerhütte's city park. Built in 1883, it served as the final resting place for the deceased members of the Wagenführ family.

In 1873, the owner of the hut had a palace built as his residence in the middle of the park, today's "Old Palace." This palace surrounds a park landscape with a swan pond, a sculpted section with a waterfall, and a mausoleum. To mark the marriage of Franz Wagenführ's son, the owner of the hut had a new palace built in the park between 1909 and 1911. In this context, the park was also expanded to include a courtyard of honor, a parterre with a pergola, a pond, and a lidded vase rondel. The "New Palace," built in the Italian style, is located in the southeastern part of the park.
