Refreshment point with excellent first courses

A karst depression vaguely reminiscent of an amphitheater, with the forest road surrounding it and the white rocks emerging from the green meadow: an extremely evocative and peaceful bucolic spot! The entire area is characterized by a wide variety of karst phenomena: unique furrowed fields are everywhere, sometimes reaching 2-3 meters deep; within a radius of 200 meters are numerous underground cavities that descend to a hundred meters; the busa itself is a karst depression. 8 am on August 27, 2024, I was attacked near the Lora mountain hut twice by 2 Maremma dogs and a black wolfdog. They ran towards me barking and growling even though I was on a public path and not in the middle of meadows and there were no flocks or herds grazing (there were only a few sheep behind an electric fence near the mountain hut). No shepherds nearby. I had to back up, putting my bike between me and the dogs and preventing them from going around me (they tried). Luckily they didn't try to bite me, because even if I had anti-dog spray with me I wouldn't have had a good time anyway. I wonder why they don't train anti-wolf dogs to distinguish between a wolf and a human being and leave the latter alone. Defending flocks and herds from theft by criminals makes no sense in 2024 on a plateau of a few km2 where each animal is branded and registered.

La Busa del Molton (Montone in Italian) is a very interesting place from a landscape point of view, you can admire meadows dotted with particular rock formations that make them truly suggestive. Among shepherds it indicates the place where the sheep are gathered in spring to be sheared. The area is nothing more than a karst depression and the scattered rocks are probably of moraine origin. There are therefore numerous underground cavities with depths of up to a hundred metres. Here there is a small house (Baito) equipped with 6 mattresses, a stove and more, so you can spend the night sheltered from the weather.
