Beautifully located right in Simmern

Beautiful little town in the Hunsrück region

No trains are currently running on the disused former Hunsrückquerbahn railway line, but a section of the route, approximately 24 km long, is being restored for freight traffic between Simmern and Büchenbeuren.

Next to the mill building, a small plank staircase leads down to the footbridge over the millrace. Caution: the iron supports holding the planks protrude significantly into the steps and may be hidden by leaves or snow!

At this point in the wide stream meadows, the Simmerbach indulges in a little whitewater frenzy.

An impressively large church for this small place.

There is no parking here. The parking lot for the tour is located above and can be reached via Hauptstraße - Fichtenstraße - Im Farrich.

The church is beautifully situated on the hill and is surrounded by a small cemetery. Unfortunately it could not be visited today. I also did not find the film graves in the cemetery, but the ancient chestnut trees alone were worth the visit and tour
