The Pfalzfeld market looks back on a centuries-old tradition. Old customs records show that there has been a market in Pfalzfeld since the 15th century. The market is said to have originally been connected to the church festival and to have been held on St. Maximin's Day (29 May). Later, the market took place on the day before Corpus Christi. In the 20th century, the market was held as a flea and livestock market with several interruptions, followed by a cozy get-together and dance music. After a 35-year break, the municipality decided in 1988, on the initiative of the local mayor, to revive the centuries-old market tradition. Since then, a manageable fair with street vendors, charitable organizations and amateur artists has taken place on the market square. Cool drinks, wine from the Middle Rhine, homemade sausages, home-baked bread and specialties from the grill and grill ensure physical well-being.
