This part of the Jewish cemetery has a sense of tranquility—few visitors and a refuge for wildlife in the tall grass. Only a few paths are regularly mowed here. It's worth a quiet visit!

The municipal cemetery, which opened in 1874, was supposed to be located far outside the city limits at the time. It has since been surrounded by the Simmering residential district and living space is becoming increasingly cramped for its residents.
