With good equipment (binoculars and telephoto lens) you can make great observations and take great pictures here.

However, you can only reach the actual Galenbecker See in very few places

A town hall was built in 1599, which was destroyed in a fire in 1602, rebuilt in 1612 and destroyed again after 1652. The two-story baroque town hall on the market square, newly built in 1733 with a mighty roof turret, was destroyed in 1945. The school building, built in 1852 next to the Church of St. Mary, has two floors over a high basement and has a gable roof; its nine-axis plastered facade is accentuated by a central projection. The portal is a striking detail. The house was renovated in 1999 as part of urban development funding and converted for use by the city administration. The square at the town hall was then redesigned.
