The road surface from Voßhöfener Straße to the center of Wetter has now been resurfaced. It's a beautiful new road—without the many potholes. The rest of the road will also be resurfaced.

The view of Wetter (Ruhr) and the Kaisbergaue offers a picturesque combination of historic city scenery and protected nature.

You should have seen, there is a cycle path along the top and then into the "Malkasten" in Wengern

Small but beautiful. Great hiking area.

Sometimes a bit muddy

Addition to the above description: You can see Wetter Castle in freedom, which is much larger and better preserved than Volmerstein Castle.

Interestingly, the center of the city of Wetter is located in the middle of undeveloped land; we stand in front of the obelisk pierced in all four directions, take a few fun photos through the stone tubes and admire the courage of the farmers who were memorialized: "HERE is the center of the city of Wetter (Ruhr). This obelisk marks the center of our urban area within the boundaries since 1970. It is topographically located at 51° 22' 20* N - 07° 20' 53** 0 HERE 200 years ago, the hard coal deposited up the slope was to be mined by driving the "Drei-Cronen" tunnel. The farmers Boeving, Reschop, Kaeseler, Wiedey, Stolte, Kleine Voß and Große Voß from the village of Voßhöfen appealed to the Wetter mining authority against the plan. They feared that their streams and wells would dry up in 1806. The water, they complained, was indispensable for extinguishing fires on the farms, for maintaining meadows and for watering the large livestock. Their lawsuit had a value in dispute of 17,730 Reichsthalem and 34 Stübern. It was during this time of the Empire, when Emperor Napoleon was here prevailed, successfully.
