Alpine Lake

Over the lake outlet and eastwards up into a hidden high valley, which you leave shortly before the end to the left upwards. Over a short steep step secured with a wire rope, finally over scree, up to the wide southwest ridge. Along this up to the upper end of the Zufrittferner (3262 m). Cross the glacier diagonally eastwards, heading exactly towards the summit structure of the Zufrittspitze (crampons recommended - a must on bare ice). Where you then join the ascent route from the Ultental, on the steep southwest ridge at the beginning somewhat laborious over crumbly walking terrain, finally through a steep gully secured with a steel chain, up to the Zufrittspitze (3439 m). Walking time from Hölderle approx. 8-9 hours, from approx. 3200 meters only scree field.

Lake Quaira (Arzkarsee), located at about 2,100 meters above sea level in the Sarntal Alps, is an ideal destination for hikers seeking tranquility and natural beauty. Reachable via well-marked trails, the lake is located in an Alpine basin surrounded by pastures and Alpine peaks. The route to reach it is suitable for hikers of average experience.

In July the alpine roses bloom particularly beautifully here. This year there is a lot of water everywhere. The tops of the mountains are still covered with snow.

Super nice area, we hiked from the Weissbrunnersee to the Höchsten Hütte.

The Höchster Hütte is the only alpine shelter in the Ultner mountains. It lies at the foot of the Hintere Eggenspitze (3,443 m), the Lorcher Spitze (3,347 m), the Weißbrunnspitze (3,253 m) and the Zufrittspitze (3,439 m).

There is a rest area with a water point, a view of the Weissbrunnsee and a landscape of meadows and streams soaked in water.
