No more chairlifts, but a gondola lift since 2025! I find chairlifts and the silent, slow glide across the grass, almost like flying, absolutely wonderful. It's a shame that the chairlifts are disappearing one after the other. At least the new gondola lift is still close to the ground and peaceful, downright relaxing compared to the "moon rockets" of Bolzano and Seceda. The switch to gondolas is in preparation for extending the lift all the way to the Puflatsch. Winter sports, the lure of gold...

"Panorama" is an exaggeration. In fact, you only catch four or five glimpses of the Peitlerkofel, the Geissler Group, the Fonteklaus, and the seemingly tiny Eisack Valley between the tall bushes. But you can constantly hear the roar of the highway. A more beautiful descent to Klausen begins very close to this panoramic trail https://t1p.de/fy2my. It leads through the quiet Tinnebach gorge behind Säben Monastery and ends... at the Eiscafé Mary 🤪

Nestled above Ponte Gardena and the Isarco River, Barbiano is known for its slightly leaning bell tower and its woods full of delicious chestnuts. Among others, Goethe stopped here during his trip to Italy. There are numerous hiking and off-road cycling trails in the municipality.
