The Grand Hotel is an enormous building with seven floors and 250 rooms, with furnishings that were originally so sumptuous that they aroused wonder even among the aristocratic customers. The facade, 128 meters long, presents a unique decorative richness: dozens of statues, caryatids, zoomorphic elements, cherubs, festoons, contribute to the creation of a highly suggestive atmosphere. Inside, the rooms are distributed symmetrically, the atrium and staircase in the center, the living and dining rooms on the sides. Due to the huge costs of managing and adapting the systems to new needs, it was definitively closed in 1979. It has recently undergone partial restoration.
