I've done it twice in the same lap, first from Desso, then after climbing Monte Pora. They're completely different. From Desso, it's long and always in double digits, with significant peaks, so take it with a pinch of salt; the other is rideable. Seeing is believing. 🚴‍♀️

The ascent to the Passo di Zambla from Ponte Nossa goes up the Val Seriana for about 14 kilometers with an altitude difference of 800 meters. It passes through the towns of Erdeno and Oneta, and although it does not have prohibitive slopes, the length requires a good constant commitment.

In the morning, it is mostly not exposed to the sun. In early spring and obviously in winter, I recommend thermal clothing. The ride is very suggestive, alternating between nature, particular tunnels (dimly lit, headlights and lights are mandatory out of mutual respect for other cyclists) and old train stops.

Beautiful cycle path, worth trying even for those who are not from the area..
