Getting up here is challenging....but very rewarding, for the view and for the satisfaction of having pedaled among the olive trees in perfect solitude, listening to the rhythm of your breathing, with your legs pushing. Priceless emotions!!

Adjacent to the cemetery of Vasia, it is the oldest church in the Prelà valley. The sources consulted do not report anything about the possible building existing before the transfer of the area, in 1119, to the Benedictine monks of Lérins, in Provence. The current building is largely due to them: the salient façade, the structure with three naves, the square apse and the external bell tower seem to date back to the late 12th century. In 1453 the church became part of the priory of San Michele di Ventimiglia. The monks ceded all the properties to the consuls of Vasia in 1563. In the 17th century the church was partly restructured in modern forms. The bell tower was lowered at an unspecified time.

the oratory of S.Bernardo is a beautiful little rock church recently restored by a private individual. An hour of peace and with an excellent fountain of drinkable water, taken from a nearby spring.

note how the valleys of Imperia are sparsely populated, a few small villages scattered here and there with lots of olive trees in the middle. The very presence of the olive trees indicates that once the whole valley was a vegetable garden, very well kept. From which an oil was produced that was exported all over the world and that made the fortune of the Sasso, Carli and Isnardi, to name the main ones.

Monte Moro is called this way because it was once the site of a fixed fortress of the Moors, the Saracens, who had placed a garrison of the territory here. You can still see the traces in the masonry of the ancient garrison. They have recently also found some crescent swords typical of the Moorish world (which then means Ottoman Empire)
