A very well-maintained hiking hut; there are five guest books, all of which are fully completed. The hut has a thirty-year history.

The first version of the bridge was built in 1832 to connect Kunitzburg Castle with Jena. At the time, it was only accessible by ferry, but it was the site of several tragic accidents. The bridge was destroyed in 1945, during the final weeks of the war, by the Wehrmacht. Replaced by a temporary bridge, it was completely rebuilt in 2012, preserving its original charm.

The Kunitz House Bridge is a covered bridge over the Saale River. It existed from 1832 to 1945 and was rebuilt in 2012. The Kunitz House Bridge Festival is organized annually by the Kunitz Bridge and Monument Association.

Open from 11:30 am to 8:00 pm Wednesday to Sunday.
