A truly magnificent panoramic view of the Niederburg castle and the Moselle Valley from Kobern-Gondorf. The wine bar on the Oberburg castle at Matthias Chapel is open Thursday to Sunday. It's better with a glass of Moselle wine—but you don't have to drink to enjoy the view... it's perfectly fine without wine. 👍

Built by Gerlach I of Cobern-Isenburg. A castle complex with several rings and a trapezoidal keep. Withstood a two-year siege by Archbishop John of Trier in 1193-95. Wonderful vantage point!
