🐝 The Platten Insect Paradise is a special ecological highlight directly on the Maare-Mosel cycle path. It was created to raise awareness of the importance of insects for our ecosystem and to offer them a new habitat.

🏘️ Platten is an idyllic wine village that is often mentioned in connection with the Moselle, but strictly speaking lies in the picturesque side valley of the Lieser – only about 4 km from the mouth of the Moselle.

🌳 Burgen is a state-recognized resort town nestled in an idyllic side valley of the Middle Moselle. Unlike many typical Moselle villages, the historic town center lies about a kilometer from the riverbank along the Frohnbach stream, giving Burgen a unique, almost enchanted character.

🍷 The best view of the vineyards of Julien Renard – the young winemaker often celebrated as the “wine sommelier of the vines” – can be found in the striking steep slope of Winninger Uhlen.

🏔️ Standing high up in the vineyards near Graach, you're on the "Balcony of the Middle Moselle". From here, you'll enjoy a contrasting panorama that connects the deeply carved course of the Moselle River with the sweeping hills of the Eifel region to the north.

🚢 On the Moselle River, places for shipping are not marked by classic yellow town signs (like on roads), but by specific nautical signs and landmarks. The boat landing (Lieser Moselstraße) Lieser has an official boat landing on the banks of the Moselle (near Moselstraße 28). This is marked for captains and passengers by the typical white piers used by excursion boats (e.g., the passenger shipping company Gebr. Kolb). Often, signs with the town name can also be found directly on the riverbank railing or at the waiting shelters.

🍇🥂 The view of the Moselle near Lieser is one of the most impressive panoramas of the Middle Moselle, especially because the place lies at the transition between the present river course and the primeval Moselle valley.
