This section of the route is a well-paved footpath and cycle path with a view of the species-rich Lippe and Lippeauen nature reserve. With a bit of luck, you might even see a kingfisher.

(I think) until around the turn of the millennium the main route through the NSG Aplerbecker Wald was a completely normal road. This was closed at certain times of the year due to the toad migration. At some point it was permanently closed.

The Aplerbecker Wald nature reserve, located in the Aplerbeck district of Dortmund, covers an area of ​​111.4 hectares and was placed under protection in September 2005. It is an important habitat for over 100 species of birds, as well as reptiles and amphibians. The area is also known for its ecologically valuable peripheral areas.

Very beautiful old railway line runs through the area here.

Always along the creek, almost flat. In winter there was water everywhere, many small tributaries to the stream. Our hiking boots put up with a lot!

Various sources, which are now somewhat outdated, categorize this specimen as a burning heap, but it has not yet been possible to research a current status on this. With an area of 140 hectares and a height of 148 meters above sea level, the Bergehalde offers over 40 km of hiking trails. The corridor park, the tree plateau and the grass field are waiting to be discovered. During the hike you are surrounded by a colorful landscape and blue herbs. Once at the top, you will be rewarded with a fabulous view. You can enjoy the view from the "Adener Höhe" of the Münsterland, the Sauerland, the eastern and western Ruhr area.
