It was completed as a prison in 1425/26 and served as a detention center for serious criminals until 1810. The name derives from its former use as a prison for defendants in witch trials. Current use: Restaurant "Zum Türmchen": A well-known restaurant housed in a listed 14th-century half-timbered building, offering German-Dutch cuisine. Büttelturm: Another tower, also dating back to the 14th century, which served as a synagogue for a time.
