Nice alternative to the cycle path on the L19.

The two-story, clinker-clad, historicist building, with two side gable projections and a striking corner turret with an octagonal bell dome and lantern, is a dominant urban feature. It was built in the last quarter of the 19th century. It housed the Ratskeller (town hall cellar) adjacent to the Gothic town hall, as well as a drugstore. The building was converted and renovated into the city's administrative building, Building 3, in 2019 as part of urban development funding. It houses the building, registration, and regulatory departments. Since 2006, a relief by Gisela Krüger on the building commemorates the last witch trial in Grimmen in 1697, against Anna Maria Kröger, who was burned at the stake. An unusually high number of such trials are said to have taken place in Grimmen prior to this.

The building and grounds are owned by the Paffenholz family, who have transformed it into a beautiful garden. The family transformed the yard, formerly a concrete yard, into a flower oasis with a vegetable garden and a deadwood pile for wildlife.

Easily accessible by RE 5 from Berlin and Stralsund. The building is in a very sad state.

Next to St. Mary's Church, the brick-red, cylindrical water tower dominates Grimmen's skyline and is visible from afar. At 32.5 meters, the second tallest building in the city was built in 1933 as part of a central water supply for the then 5,500 residents.

The Greifswald Gate is one of three gates that still exist in Grimmen. The gate, built between 1350 and 1400, was part of the city's medieval defense system. It was badly damaged by a lightning strike around 1800. The late Gothic brick building was rebuilt a little smaller and less adorned due to tight budgets. In 1980, the Greifswald Gate was extensively renovated.

Right behind the car park is a place of peace and relaxation. A little piece of nature that suits every city! From there it is not far to the zoo or the old town.
