現在の利用状況：古い工場敷地の大部分は、都市開発プロジェクトの一環として近代的な住宅街に再開発されています。

Mönchwaldsee周辺や滑走路周辺/沿いのツアーの出発点として適しています。ただし、駐車時間は2時間のみです。

Since the end of the 17th century, the Bonnemühle mill has stood at the mouth of the Schwarzbach stream, which was then called the Goldbach. In 1909, the cellulose and paper manufacturer, Privy Councillor Philipp Offenheimer, acquired the former grain mill, which he used as a summer residence. Due to the abundance of water, Offenheimer had deep wells drilled. The water drawn from these wells was piped to the cellulose factory, where it was used for paper production. After paper production ceased (in 1970), an artificial marshland was created, which was drained starting in 1972, along with the still-visible drainage system. Today, the area is an important refuge for birds and other animals.

Frankfurt Airport is the largest in Germany. It was opened in 1936. It covers an area of 21 square kilometers. There are 4 runways and several parking facilities. It is easily accessible by rail.
