Location: The sculpture is located on the Görauer Anger, a scenic plateau on the edge of the Swabian Alps, offering views of the Kulmbach region and Plassenburg Castle.

In the middle of the Görauer Anger (a local green) are bomb craters dug by the US Army in 1945. Several times a week, trucks transporting German ammunition into these craters detonated explosives. The neighboring villages were warned of the detonations by a horn signal, and the population was instructed to seek shelter. This proved necessary, as the grenade and ammunition fragments flew as far as Zultenberg, a kilometer away. The procedure dragged on for months, and unfortunately, not everything was rendered harmless, which would lead to a tragic accident two years later. On April 20, 1947, nine children were playing in a meadow at the Görauer Anger. They discovered a hand grenade, which exploded while they were playing. Several boys were injured, some seriously; not all survived. Infranken.de reports one fatality: It was Reinhard Melkus (68), who was five years old at the time and discovered a hand grenade in the dense undergrowth. Martin Thunig made the fatal mistake. "He hit the grenade on a rock," recounts Reinhard Melkus, who himself was incredibly lucky. By the time the grenade exploded, his older brother, Walter Melkus (71), had already pulled him a safe distance into the woods. The grenade left a scene of devastation. Martin Thunig suffered severe abdominal injuries but survived. Alois Jungbauer was the worst affected and was killed. Near the site of the incident, an article mentions two fatalities. A small memorial was erected near the craters in their memory, which is also dedicated to the two children: Alois Jungbauer, 9 years old Heiner Lotter, 12 years old Even today, it cannot be ruled out that unexploded ordnance still remains in the Görauer Anger area.

The Schindersbrunnen is a natural monument in the Balmenflur area, idyllic near the village of Schirradorf (municipality of Wonsees). It is a karst spring, meaning it does not flow year-round, but only seasonally or after heavy rainfall. The spring and the surrounding Balmen (rock outcrops) are a protected natural highlight of the region.

The Hercules Fountain was erected in the market square in 1737 and later moved a few meters. The Hercules figure carries a club and is adorned with the coat of arms of Kasendorf: quartered silver and black on the left; a silver cat climbing the divider on a blue field on the right.
