Kannawurf with the castle, which almost no one knows about. After years of decay, this building is being renovated and repaired by a group of friends and is now being rebuilt. Today we were fortunate enough to be able to move around completely freely and independently, in exchange for a voluntary donation (very welcome), to "wander around" approximately 60% of the already renovated rooms and the castle garden. Many volunteers have accomplished a great deal over the past 15 years. There is also a separate museum (price:?). Highly recommended.

The effort of the ascent to the Saxon Castles is worth it! They are quiet, idyllic places with beautiful views that invite you to linger. Of course, the access by mountain bike is ideal. But you can also ride up on gravel or road bikes. The downhill trail is definitely only fun on a mountain bike 😉🙋‍♂️👍

The climb to Sachsenburg is rewarded with a great view of the Unstrut Valley.

Beautiful view from the upper Sachsenburg. You can even see Artern. Magnificent.

The idea is really great. Can be used as a place to sit. However, the grass was very high.

The bell tower/chapel is a lovely, quiet place to linger. If the bushes and wild growth were cut back, you would definitely have a great view.

Free from 6:00 p.m. on weekdays and all day on weekends.
