One of the most beautiful, if not the most beautiful vantage point on the Rursee.

The Urttalsperre is the oldest dam (1905) in the Eifel and a popular destination. The dam wall was the largest structure in Europe at the time, has a length of 266 m and a height of 59 m. There is a nice excursion restaurant at the dam wall, which you can reach by boat, bus, car, bike or on foot. The Urftsee is also a very beautiful hiking area with a great path along the shore, which always offers a beautiful view of the Ordensburg Vogelsang.

Unfortunately, the third of the above tours (Struffelt nature reserve - view of the Runde von Roetgen reservoir, 9.46 km) is currently (04/30/22) not accessible. The parking lot is closed and the path from the parking lot is not hikeable due to numerous large fallen trees 😱🙁. So it's no use starting this tour from the nearest car park - the Kleebendbrücke hikers' car park.

Very nice Heide-Moor nature reserve. The nature reserve is an old cultural area that arose from intensive sheep grazing and is now to be preserved. In autumn, the blooming heather is an absolute eye-catcher. Very nice in combination with the birches and the sometimes overpowering bracken. The paths through the moor run over footbridges.

The Bayehon Waterfall is a roughly nine-meter-high waterfall near the Belgian village of Longfaye, situated at an altitude of approximately 510 meters. Fed by the Ruisseau de Bayehon stream, it lies within a deep, wooded gorge crisscrossed by attractive hiking trails. The waterfall is also easily accessible via the nearby Moulin de Bayehon watermill, making it particularly appealing to families, as parking is available and the mill offers friendly service. The Bayehon Waterfall is considered the highlight of the gorge and provides numerous picturesque photo opportunities.
