The Red House in Monschau was built around 1760 by the cloth maker and merchant Johann Heinrich Scheibler and is now a museum. The three-story building, with its striking red facade, combines living quarters and business premises from the historic woolen cloth production. Inside, living and reception rooms in the Rococo, Louis XVI, and Empire styles have been preserved, offering a glimpse into the upper-middle-class domestic culture of the 18th and early 19th centuries. A particular highlight is the cantilevered oak staircase spanning three floors, adorned with carved scenes from cloth production. Further information at: https://rotes-haus-monschau.de/
